Doa Book CoverRejoice always, pray continually…” is the advice the apostle Paul gave to the church in Thessalonica. It is also Biblical advice to us, God’s people in Malaysia.

In 1872, Dwight L. Moody attended an early morning prayer meeting at a barn in Ireland. At that meeting, he heard a man say softly, “The world has yet to see what God will do with a man fully consecrated to him.” A few years before, while Moody was sitting on a stage in London at Charles Spurgeon’s tent. Spurgeon used the very same words in his message. Moody then bowed his head and prayed, “With the power of the Holy Spirit, I will be that man.” The Lord saw Moody’s sincerity and honoured the prayer, blessing him with a ministry that transformed many lives until today.

The Lord will hear the prayer of the righteous who want to be used by Him to bring the nations back to Him, starting with us, our families, our church, and our own people. We are not short on testimonies on how the Lord has changed a community, a tribe, and a race in Malaysia. The revivals in Bario, Ba’Kelalan, Ranau and Taginambur, as well as others that happened amongst several tribes among the Penan and Dayak; all of them began with the Lord’s people kneeling in repentance and prayer. From there, they ‘prayed continually’ to the Lord for themselves, their churches and their people.

This humble book will provide us with an overview about prayer. From there, it will hopefully generate a spark for us to pray for different areas of our beloved country, accompanied by a dozen examples of prayer for the country.

Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:3)
